Coaching/Training Career:
My name is Phil Guglielmo and I am from Annandale Virginia.
I played my high school basketball at St. Stephens & St. Agnes School in Alexandria. From there, I committed to the Naval Academy which is a Division I school in the Patriot League conference. I had a few awesome seasons there before transferring to Nyack College, where I would finish out the rest of my college career. About two years after I finished playing in college, I went to an open tryout for the Capital City Go-Go of the NBA G-League. I had an incredible tryout and I was asked to join the team for about six weeks for pre-draft workouts and minicamp.
My most memorable college career moment was an Army-Navy game that Reggie Miller was commentating. It was a nationally televised game on CBS and I hit a couple of really big shots from three and Reggie Miller was going crazy talking about how good of a shooter I was. It was an honor hearing that from one of the greatest NBA shooters of all time.
I actually trained with Evolution as a high school and college player and the training staff here was a huge part of why I was able to make it to the Division I college level. Basketball is my passion! Coming back and becoming a part of the Evolution family, as a trainer, is dream come true. I have had a lot of success in the game of basketball but I have also made a lot of mistakes. As a trainer and mentor to young players, I find it extremely rewarding to help them learn from my personal mistakes as well as my successes on and off the court. So, ultimately my players can be the best versions of themselves in the game and beyond.
