At Evolution, we’re proud to work with athletes who embody commitment, resilience, and a passion for growth—on and off the court. This month, we’re excited to highlight two athletes who represent the heart of our training program: Grace Ellingson and Kiran Woodring.
📍 Manassas | Gainesville High School | Advanced Training
Grace’s story is one of grit and determination. As a dedicated member of our advanced training program, Grace exemplifies the type of athlete who embraces challenge and pushes through adversity with purpose. After suffering an ACL injury in February 2024, she committed herself to staying in the gym, doing everything she could within her limits, and gradually worked her way back. She returned to the court as a starter her sophomore season and had a breakout year—earning First Team All-District and First Team All-Region honors. In one game alone, she scored 24 of her team’s 47 points, showing just how impactful she can be.
Instead of returning to AAU this spring, Grace made the intentional decision to focus entirely on her recovery, strength, and skill development. That dedication has paid off: in June, she had a strong performance at DMV Live, drawing attention from college coaches and continuing to build her future at the next level.
Grace is now in her fifth season with Evolution this summer, and she continues to grow. In addition to the advanced training, she also is a part of our college prep program, for athletes looking to compete at the next level. Her work ethic and perseverance are a model for all athletes pursuing serious goals.
📍 Merrifield | Fundamental Training
Kiran is the kind of young athlete who reminds us what dedication looks like at every level. Now in his 5th season training with Evolution, Kiran continues to show consistent growth, a strong work ethic, and a great attitude every time he steps on the court. His progression through our fundamental training program reflects his commitment to improving the right way—focusing on strong habits, skill development, and understanding the game.
Training every Sunday of this Summer season. Kiran brings energy and consistency that set a strong example for other young players. His journey is just getting started, and we’re proud to be a part of it.
Grace and Kiran may be at different stages in their basketball journeys, but both show what it means to train with purpose. Whether recovering from injury and pushing toward the next level, or building a strong foundation from the ground up, they represent the Evolution mindset: keep showing up, keep improving, and never stop working.
